Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually
Job Summary
The Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, direct the financial operations of the company including budgeting, planning, investing and other financial matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budget preparation.
- Coordinates the company’s financial planning, budgeting and investment activities
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Prepares periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts and annual budgets
- Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Reviews financial details from past, present and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made
- Collaborates with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit.
- Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations and accounting standards
- Sets of new accounts, reconciles accounts and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits and addresses inquiries from the banks
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
- Files tax forms with federal, state and local government agencies
- Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
