Overview
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator interacts and builds successful relationships with employees and management. The role includes recruiting, interviewing, and selecting candidates for various levels of open positions; ensuring compliance with state and federal employment regulations; coordinating and facilitating training relevant to Operations for new and existing employees; and evaluating trainees for training effectiveness and individual employee growth.

Essential Functions- Provide support in functional areas of Human Resources, including benefit administration, leave of absence administration, recruitment and employment, communication, employee relations, training, and special projects, to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Serve as a communication liaison for those involved in the hiring process.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding employment policies and regulations.
- Assist in the coordination and administration of employee benefit plans.
- Consult with management and organizational members to understand developmental needs, make recommendations, and secure agreement for implementation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of employment law as it relates to FMLA, EEOC, ADA, I-9 compliance, and employment verification.
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate training relevant to Distribution Operations, including new technologies, programs, and software.
- Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate new hire training (Safety, GMP, Company Intro, etc.).
- Perform data entry in HRIS and related systems.
- Maintain personnel information files.
- Answer, screen, and direct telephone calls and take appropriate action.
- Maintain attendance records for all employees (manual and computerized).
- Perform other HR-related functions as requested, including HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, etc.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business or management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Solid knowledge of HR-related laws, i.e., FMLA, COBRA, EEOC, ADA, etc.
- 2-5 years of HR employee relations experience.
- Strong project management/organizational skills.
- Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, or similar programs is required.
- Training experience preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
