We are seeking a Database Administrator to act as a technical expert within IT infrastructure, responsible for maintaining and optimizing critical database systems to ensure data accuracy, availability, and security.
This role will lead complex initiatives such as system maintenance, performance tuning, and large‑scale upgrades, troubleshoot high‑impact issues and support business‑critical applications that require high availability. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and critical thinker able to translate complex technical concepts, collaborate cross‑functionally, and make sound decisions in fast‑paced environments. Mentoring junior team members and a clear path toward a lead‑level position are also part of the role.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Equivalent experience accepted:
Associate's Degree + 2 years of related experience, or 4 years of related experience in lieu of post‑secondary education - 5+ years of IT or computer technology experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on database administration experience
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation and support off‑hours work as needed
- Ability to work onsite in Holland, MI (no remote/hybrid or relocation assistance available)
- Must have unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment
- Experience with Business Intelligence and data warehousing
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience working with Oracle databases
- Advanced troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience with system maintenance, performance tuning, and large‑scale upgrades
- Proven ability to support high‑availability, business‑critical systems
- Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies and tools
- Experience leveraging AI or automation in database administration tasks
Pay range: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year.
