Computing and Information Technology Job Description Position Summary

The Software Manager for Key ERP Systems is a primary resource for coordinating the operation, maintenance, planning, and user support for the Key ERP portfolio. The portfolio comprises the college’s core administrative systems, the integrations that connect them, and adjacent software that supports the same work. In this role, you will ensure applications in the portfolio are usable, intuitive, and convenient, and will support functional end-users.

You will be part of a highly interactive IT team where mutual assistance is a constant. A similar environment of interaction is also a major component of the college’s ERP user community, and you will be expected to be a leader and collaborator in this community.

Functional end-users are responsible for day-to-day operation of the portfolio, and technical staff support the infrastructure of the various applications. Within this context, you will provide project management. You will also perform operational duties to assist with training, testing, or provide short-term extra support when functional personnel bandwidth is limited.

Manage the Key ERP Portfolio
  • You will collaboratively shape the strategy and roadmap for the software in the portfolio (currently Ellucian Banner, Banner Document Management, Degree Works, Transact Payments, Evisions Argos, and ISE Enterprise Schedule).
  • You thrive on learning. You will develop knowledge about the portfolio and related software, ensuring their effective use across campus.
  • You believe in precision and reliability. You will manage the configuration, verify data integrity, and provide ongoing support for the software in the portfolio.
  • Compliance matters. You will ensure that integrations with other software comply with laws, license agreements, industry standards, and campus policies.
  • You are a steward of user access. You will maintain user accounts in accordance with regulations (FERPA, GLBA, etc.), licensing agreements, and institutional policies.
  • You help people make sense of data. You will determine and develop end-user data processing and reporting requirements, providing solutions that achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • You are the connective tissue. You will translate technical concepts for functional users and business needs for technical staff, and connect colleagues across that divide so the right expertise reaches the right problem.
  • Clarity and support go hand in hand. You will create local documentation and provide high-level training to end-users as needed.
  • User experience is a priority. You will ensure that interfaces within the portfolio are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with the college’s branding guidelines where possible and appropriate.
  • You are a strategic thinker. You will collaborate with teams across campus to plan enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance for the portfolio.
  • You take a forward-thinking approach. You will assess the current use of the portfolio, plan and test software upgrades, and evaluate how well it meets the college’s evolving needs. You will stay informed about developments in the marketplace to ensure the college is using the most effective and relevant solutions.
  • Growth and development matter. You will attend training and conferences as needed to stay informed about best practices and emerging technologies.
  • You get things done through other people. You will coordinate work across functional and technical teams you don’t supervise, keeping projects moving and commitments clear.
  • And of course, you’re flexible. You will take on additional duties as assigned by management.
Demonstrated Outcomes
  • A well-defined strategy and roadmap for the portfolio.
  • Systems that are properly configured, well-documented, and compliant with policies and regulations.
  • Effective support and training for end-users, improving efficiency and ease of use.
  • A strong user experience that aligns with accessibility and branding guidelines.
  • Thoughtful evaluation and implementation of new technologies to ensure long-term success of…
