Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to support a manufacturing operation by managing supplier relationships, inventory levels, and purchase order performance. This individual will oversee approximately 15-20 suppliers
, ensuring materials are delivered on time to support production while driving supplier accountability and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for monitoring open purchase orders, resolving material shortages, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future disruptions. This role requires strong analytical skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions within the organization.

This is an approved headcount and a 9-12 month contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage 15-20 supplier accounts and ensure timely material deliveries.
  • Monitor purchase orders, shipment schedules, and inventory availability.
  • Review supplier open-order reports and proactively address delivery risks.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, shortages, delays, and recovery plans.
  • Conduct 5 Why (5Y), 8D, or similar root cause investigations and drive permanent corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations, Planning, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to support production requirements.
  • Analyze supply chain performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support both tactical and strategic supply chain initiatives.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and business impacts to leadership.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency and supplier performance.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects related to inventory management, supplier performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide backup support to supply chain leadership and team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required;
    Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in supply chain, materials planning, purchasing, inventory control, procurement, or supplier management.
  • Experience conducting root cause investigations using 5 Why, 8D, or similar methodologies.
  • Proven experience managing material shortages, supplier escalations, recovery plans, and corrective actions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
    • HLOOKUP
    • Pivot Tables
  • Experience working within ERP systems in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP experience.
  • Understanding of Material Master data.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting large inventory operations and high-volume part-count environments.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, logistics challenges, and inventory-related issues.
Work Environment
  • Casual to business-casual work environment.
  • Monday through Friday schedule.
  • 40-hour work week with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
  • Core hours are 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with flexibility outside of those hours as business needs require.
