Williams Distributing Co. & Shoemaker Inc. Divisions of Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc. are seeking bright people who lean into challenges to join the team. We are a wholesale distribution powerhouse throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. Specializing in HVAC equipment and residential building products:
Kitchen and Bath, Hearth, and Garage Doors. As a company, we continuously strive to improve living environments through products and services that benefit our customers’ lives working with work with dealers, builders, contractors, designers, and architects.

Primary responsibilities include working with internal clients and vendors and purchasing HVAC-related inventory. Interact with vendors, dealers, and manufacturers to provide solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Position Responsibilities may include:

• Perform activities in the vendor purchasing program admin function
• Ensure products and services are purchased in the most cost- and time-efficient manner
• Help determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary
• Assist in inventory analysis and maintenance
• Work with vendors and service providers to get prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
• Serve as a liaison between vendors and the sales staff
• Work with Manager to seek approvals as needed
• Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with the internal customers (users) and outside vendors/ suppliers
• Must be able to multi-task
• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

• Possesses a broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education
• Has no discretion to deviate from established procedures by performing structured work assignments
• Work is closely supervised
• Problems faced are not typically difficult nor complex
• Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area

• Excellent communication and time management skills are required.
• Purchasing,
• 3-way matching,
• Invoicing, and accounting skills required.
• Must be able to multi-task, analyze needs and situations, and liaise with vendors to determine and attain the best solutions.
• Emphasis on task completion within service levels.
• Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job.

Experience:

• 0-3 years of purchasing experience
