We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Assistant team member to help care for our facilities, grounds, and equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in well-maintained spaces, and is eager to serve in a meaningful way. Your efforts will help ensure that our campus remains safe, welcoming, and ready to support ministry, events, and community connections.
WorkSchedule
- 20-25 hours per week/5 days per week
- Rotating Sunday morning coverage and participation in on-call rotation
- Assist in maintaining CMC facilities, grounds, and equipment to ensure they remain safe, clean, functional, and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Support grounds maintenance activities, including lawn care, landscaping, irrigation maintenance, leaf removal, snow removal, and tree trimming.
- Perform routine building maintenance, including painting, light carpentry, and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs.
- Provide floor care, including carpet cleaning and maintenance of hard-surface flooring.
- Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and operational needs.
- Assist with room setups and tear downs for church services, ministry events, and special gatherings.
- Perform janitorial duties as needed to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Participate in rotating Sunday morning maintenance coverage.
- Serve in an on-call rotation to respond to fire and burglar alarms.
- General knowledge of building, grounds, and equipment maintenance.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete tasks thoroughly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, contractors, and community groups.
- Dependable, flexible, and service-oriented approach to work.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Ability to identify needs, take initiative, and follow through on responsibilities.
- Availability for rotating Sunday morning coverage and on-call responsibilities.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
