Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Follow blue-prints and complete saw activities

Inspect parts for non-conformances or defects

Manually layout and cut parts according to print specifications

Set tooling as needed to cut parts

Safe operation of overhead cranes and forklifts (loading/unloading)

Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of equipment as required

Maintain an efficient, clean and organized work area

Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Work safely and responsibly, adhering to all safety policies, procedures and guidelines

Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

3+ years experience using steel cut saw machines

Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills
Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

Other Requirements

Team driven- support team members to ensure all tasks are completed

Basic math skills

Ability to read blueprints and measurement tools

Basic computer skills

Ability to operate saw machines

Ability to operate over head cranes

Able to perform occasional heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs)

Able to work in an indoor production/shop environment with exposure to variable temperatures and environmental factors (heat, cold, noise, PPE, etc)

Other Skills

Timeliness of work completion

Compliance and execution with company policies

Limit lost time

Development and participation in scheduling systems that provide a smooth interface between disciplines

Reduction in lead time to the customer from order to delivery

Adhere to and enforce all safety policies as determined by Porter Corp.
