Operator
This role involves operating production machinery in the Cell and Module Assembly departments across multiple shift options, including both day and night schedules. You will primarily run equipment, support standard production activities, and assist with packaging and material movement throughout a large, clean, and highly organized manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate production machinery in the Cell and Module Assembly departments according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent product quality and address basic issues such as jams or minor adjustments.
- Perform standard machine setup, start-up, and shutdown tasks as directed by supervisors or leads.
- Handle packaging duties, including packing finished products, labeling, and preparing items for storage or shipment.
- Move parts, components, and boxes around the plant to support continuous production flow.
- Follow all clean room protocols, including wearing required garments and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with 5S and related workplace organization practices.
- Walk between buildings and different areas of the plant as needed to complete assigned tasks and support other production lines.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational guidelines to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, or improvement opportunities.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain at least 9 months of tenure at each previous job.
- Comfort working in a clean room environment and wearing required PPE, including garments and beard nets if applicable.
- Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts on rotating schedules, including every other weekend, or standard weekday shifts as assigned.
- Capability to perform general labor tasks such as packaging and moving parts and boxes throughout the facility.
- Physical ability to walk frequently across a large facility and between buildings.
- Reliability and strong attendance, with no extended periods of unemployment longer than 30 days as specified.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
