Sanitation Technician
The Sanitation Technician will report to the Processing Supervisor. Salary: $17.33 / HR.
SummaryThe Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the egg processing equipment on a daily basis following the processing shift. The schedule will be working three days one week and four days the following week contiguously, continuing with this rotation. The Sanitation Technician will report to the Processing Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities- Disassemble, clean, sanitize and reassemble processing equipment daily.
- Work with chemicals, high-pressure cleaning equipment, manual scrubbing, hoses and simple mechanical tools.
- Maintain training on correct use of equipment, chemicals and their MSDSs.
- Review sanitation chemicals with the supervisor including use, mixing and appropriateness.
- Keep accurate record-keeping and paperwork.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintain equipment in good repair.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience- Previous food plant sanitation experience is highly desirable.
- Training for egg-specific equipment will be provided.
- Familiarity with GMPs or equivalent practices is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently.
- Willingness to learn several associated jobs.
- Bilingual:
English and Spanish is highly desirable. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge of sanitation methods, chemical handling and use.
- Knowledge of process control systems and food safety principles.
Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work EnvironmentFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, water, and chemicals. Temperature is regulated for operations standards. Cooler temperatures occur in specific areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions. Employees must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) due to working in a food manufacturing environment (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).
