A day in the life

On our second or third shift at Magna Engineered Glass, you’ll be the technical anchor for high‑precision plastic injection molding. From startup to shutdown, you’ll keep machines and their subsystems—water, material handling, heaters, robots, and more—dialed in and running reliably. Your focus: stabilize processes, elevate part quality, and compress cycle times while cutting downtime tied to setup, changeovers, tooling, and processes.

What you’ll handle

Power up and safely shut down injection molding equipment, confirming all auxiliary systems are online and functioning.

Diagnose and correct molding process issues on new and existing products to boost yields and consistency.

Shorten delays associated with die/mold changes and process setups.

React quickly to production team requests, providing on-the-spot technical support.

Accurately record process changes, parameters, and adjustments.

Create and refine process documentation for new program launches.

Set up, troubleshoot, and continuously improve end‑of‑arm tooling (EOAT).Manage hazardous waste in accordance with procedures and regulations.

Support cleaning routines and preventive maintenance to sustain uptime.

Contribute to structured problem solving and ongoing continuous improvement (CI) efforts.

Serve as an authorized member of the facility’s spill response team.

Uphold all health, safety, and environmental requirements and policies.

How you’ll drive improvement

Partner with production to analyze performance, refine parameters, and implement data‑driven changes that reduce cycle times and keep the line moving. Your insights will shape robust processes and smoother changeovers.

Experience levels

Level 13–5 years in a technical role within manufacturing.

Capable of troubleshooting, updating, and working on area equipment and systems.

Strong interpersonal skills with clear written and spoken English.

Level 21–2+ years performing at Level 1 (or equivalent education/experience).Solid injection molding proficiency; experience with RJG systematic molding preferred.

Effective written/verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Works independently and collaboratively with consistent professionalism.

Level 33–5+ years operating at Level 2 (or equivalent education/experience).ABB Level 1 Robot training proficiency.

Proven team leadership and a high degree of professionalism.

Strong project management and advanced problem‑solving capabilities.

Sets direction and performs with minimal supervision.

Advanced molding expertise; RJG Advanced Edart and Master Molder 1 preferred.
