Detergent Production Lead

Tommy’s is seeking a Detergent Production Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our detergent blending and automated bottling equipment. This candidate will supervise production team members, ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing of chemical products, maintaining high quality standards, supporting new product development, and driving continuous improvement throughout the operation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee automated bottling line and chemical blending operations
  • Coordinate production priorities to meet demand and for efficient production workflow
  • Ensure Blending department activities comply with established formulas, SOP’s, and quality standards
  • Support equipment setup and troubleshooting
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials, 3rd party detergents, and blending/bottling materials
  • Test chemicals using pH, density, viscosity, and bubble structure equipment
  • Train, coach, and develop Blending technicians
  • Work with Hazardous Chemicals and Materials
  • General data entry oriented tasks
  • Continuous improvement of blending and bottling processes and best practices
  • Individual projects as assigned

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:

  • Associates Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years of related experience with chemical processing, blending, manufacturing, or automation
  • Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office; experience within database systems a plus
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing personnel in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise good judgment and make sound data-backed decisions
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Views customer care as high priority; exhibits a positive can-do attitude
  • Displays a strong initiative and drive to identify gaps and fill them

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This job operates in a warehouse environment. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets along with forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse / assembly tools and functions. This role operates primarily indoors with limited to no travel expectation.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:

  • Work and commute in all weather conditions
  • Able to effectively communicate, listen, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information
  • Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers
  • Work in a fast-paced environment where they will often be multitasking
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as keyboard, copy machine and printer
  • Remain in a stationary position 50%+ of the time, alternating between sitting and standing
  • Drive between company locations and/or vendors or suppliers as needed while on job
