Summary:

As a Production Supervisor I, you will lead production operations by maintaining a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. You will oversee daily production activities, drive production and quality goals through effective leadership and communication, and develop team members for current and future success. This role partners with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while building strong working relationships across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the daily activities of Technical Operators at all levels to achieve production, quality, safety, and operational goals.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Review and analyze production schedules, work orders, reports, and performance metrics to determine production requirements and monitor operational performance.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to coordinate production activities across departments.
  • Develop work schedules, staffing assignments, and production sequences to achieve production, quality, and operational goals.
  • Manage the hiring, onboarding, performance management, retention, development, and evaluation of hourly team members.
  • Inspect materials, products, and equipment to identify defects, equipment malfunctions, or production concerns.
  • Monitor quality performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor production performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on equipment operation, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Observe production processes and equipment to ensure compliance with established production standards and operating procedures.
  • Partner with management, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve employee concerns, complaints, and performance issues.
  • Interpret and communicate company policies, procedures, specifications, blueprints, and work instructions to team members.
  • Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPAs) to verify compliance with established manufacturing standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational Certificate or associate's degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience:

  • 3 to 6+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing assembly equipment, including PLC equipment
  • 1 to 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Working experience with PPAP requirements
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost analysis, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
