Can you turn a quote into a stable, efficient production line?
At Magna Engineered Glass, we’re looking for an NPI Engineer who asks great questions, sweats the details, and leads from the front—on the floor and in cross-functional rooms.

Launch new programs
Build process flows and define manufacturing operations for new part quotations through ramp-up.
Lead or support PFMEA workshops with cross-functional teams to de-risk launch.

Create Standardized Work and Job Element Sheets; train teams on newly rolled-out processes.
Optimize current production
Research and drive approved continuous improvement and development projects.
Maintain plant layout drawings with input from operations, quality, and maintenance.
Develop in-process prints and production tools, including GD&T stack-ups and CAD updates; manage signoffs.
Benchmark processes and parts across sister sites, suppliers, customers, and competitors.
Technical leadership & communication
Provide technical input to Sales and customers to influence product design for manufacturability and cost.
Report major engineering developments and corrective actions to management; maintain accurate records and standards.
Promote MAFACT, lean manufacturing, standardized work, and ongoing CI across teams.
Compliance, safety, and stewardship
Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, MIOSHA/OSHA (including Lockout/Tagout), and company policies.
Proactively consider environmental aspects of production in every change and process improvement.
Submit and support CI and safety suggestions; model safe behaviors at all times.
Qualifications you’ll need Bachelor’s in engineering, or 3–5 years of related experience/training and/or equivalent education.
Background in automotive engineering is required; preferred experience in injection molding, bonding, soldering, assembly, and/or stamping.
Experience developing Manufacturing Process Prints, Standard Work Instructions, and Job Element Sheets.
Hands-on troubleshooting with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Fluent with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Problem-solving strength: 5 Why, root cause analysis, data-driven decisions, and creative solutions.
Comfort interpreting written/oral instructions, drawings, diagrams, and schedules; able to tackle non-standard problems.
Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint, Solid Works, and spreadsheet creation proficiency.
Organized, deadline-driven; able to manage multiple projects, including extended hours when needed.
Proactive, improvement-minded; clear and professional communicator in English. Spanish bilingual preferred.
Commitment to continuing education and skills growth; strong applied mathematics capability.
Work setting
Office: ~40% | Plant: ~60%
Extended periods of sitting/standing; frequent keyboard and mouse use (~6 hours/day).Vision needs include near/far/depth/color; regular computer work.
Exposure in plant to machinery, moving equipment/material, moderate noise, airborne particles/fumes, and variable temperatures.
Based primarily in a manufacturing facility; occasional travel may be required.
