Build the processes that build the product

At Magna Engineered Glass, we turn ideas into scalable, sustainable manufacturing. As our Industrialization Engineer, you will industrialize new programs, elevate existing production, and ensure every change respects quality, safety, and the environment.

Mission Lead process development, production start-up, and production support—implementing engineering changes and process improvements while ensuring environmental aspects of production are considered.

How you’ll contribute

Architect process flows and define operations for new part quotes and program launches.

Drive PFMEA with cross-functional partners to anticipate failure modes and controls.

Specify, purchase, and commission new equipment; manage rollout to the manufacturing floor.

Develop Standardized Work, Job Element Sheets, and documentation to sustain stable operations.

Serve as primary project contact, coordinating timelines, trials, and handoffs.

Research emerging technologies; lead approved continuous improvement and development projects.

Keep plant layout drawings current in partnership with operations, maintenance, and quality.

Create in-process prints and production tools, including GD&T stack-ups, CAD updates, and signoffs.

Influence product design with Sales and customers to achieve manufacturable, cost-effective solutions.

Communicate major engineering updates and corrective actions to leadership; maintain records and contribute to standards.

Benchmark internally and externally (sister plants, suppliers, customers, competitors) to capture best practices.

Promote MAFACT, lean manufacturing, standardized work, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and safety regulations including MIOSHA/OSHA and Lockout/Tagout.

Submit/drive CI and safety ideas; share lessons learned; train teams on newly rolled-out processes.

Manage multiple projects while exemplifying Magna’s Employee Charter and values; perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Engineering bachelor’s degree, or 3–5 years of relevant experience/training and/or equivalent education.

Demonstrated ability to produce Manufacturing Process Prints, Standard Work Instructions, and Job Element Sheets.

Automotive engineering experience required; preferred background in injection molding, bonding, soldering, assembly, and/or stamping.

Hands-on with machinery; strong mechanical/electrical/pneumatic aptitude and troubleshooting capability.

Proficient in GD&T; comfortable with tolerance stacks.

Analytical problem-solver using 5 Why and root cause analysis; makes sound, timely decisions.

Ability to interpret written/oral instructions, diagrams, and schedules; capable with non-standard problems.

Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Solid Works; adept at building spreadsheets.

Highly organized; able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work extended hours when necessary.

Proactive change agent with excellent written and verbal communication;
English required, Spanish preferred.

Committed to continuing education and strong in applied mathematics (probability, statistical inference, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, rates, graphs).Work environment

Approx. 40% office and 60% plant.

Extended sitting/standing; frequent keyboard and mouse use (~6 hours/day).Vision requirements include near/far/depth/color; substantial computer work.

Plant exposure to machinery, moving equipment/material, moderate noise, airborne particles/fumes, and temperature variation.

Role is primarily onsite in a manufacturing facility; occasional travel may be required.
