The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations.
About the RoleThe Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. You will be familiar with plasma collection regulations and will follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs to provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) policies.
How You Will Contribute- Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and referral to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees, where applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to local pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level credential from a recognized nursing program with state licensing requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑required basic IV therapy competence.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits SummaryLocation:
USA – MI – Holland
Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location). U.S. employees may receive short‑term incentives, 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Eligible for up to 80 sick hours per calendar year and up to 120 paid vacation hours for new hires.
