As our Infection Control Nurse, you will help maintain and promote a safe, healthy environment for residents and team members through infection surveillance, prevention, education, and clinical leadership.
- Monitor resident and staff infections, treatments, and infection trends
- Collect, analyze, document, and report infection control data
- Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention and control policies and procedures
- Investigate infection clusters and outbreaks to identify potential causes and assist in determining appropriate courses of action
- Promote and teach infection prevention practices and preventative techniques throughout the organization
- Conduct infection control education and in-service training in accordance with State and Federal regulations
- Educate employees regarding Hepatitis B vaccination and related prevention practices
- Administer and accurately document vaccinations in accordance with established policies and clinical standards
- Coordinate and administer tuberculosis (TB) testing/screening for residents and staff, evaluate results, and facilitate appropriate referrals and follow-up
- Coordinate nursing meetings and prepare meeting agendas
- Administer and coordinate nursing competency testing
- Coordinate required annual staff training and education
- Serve as a patient education coordinator by researching and providing educational videos, resources, tools, and other materials to support resident and patient education
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to infection prevention, vaccinations, education, and clinical competencies
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support quality improvement, resident safety, and regulatory compliance
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
