The Opportunity:
Our client is a leader in the motor vehicle parts manufacturing industry, delivering advanced metalworking solutions to automotive and industrial partners. With state-of-the-art capabilities in stamping, welding, laser cutting, and assembly, the organization excels in high-volume production and complex projects. As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be instrumental in upholding and advancing quality standards across operations, championing continuous improvement and customer satisfaction in a collaborative, fast-paced environment based in Holland, Michigan.
Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary quality liaison between the company and its customer base.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct quality assurance programs to ensure the continuous production of compliant products.
- Establish, maintain, and improve Quality Assurance procedures and controls across operations.
- Oversee corrective action activities, reviewing findings and recommending solutions.
- Manage internal quality functions including floor support, product sampling, rework, and final inspection.
- Maintain gage control and statistical process control programs.
- Ensure all products consistently meet or exceed company and industry quality standards.
- Lead supplier auditing and qualification processes for new and existing suppliers.
- Advise on the installation and maintenance of inspection and testing procedures for materials and products.
- Manage and coordinate compliance with Quality System standards, with periodic status reporting to management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years’ related experience, or equivalent combination.
- Expertise in IATF 16949 or equivalent automotive quality standards, including ISO and TS16949.
- Proficient with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
- Strong working knowledge of gage calibration, GD&T, and CMM technology.
- Experience leading quality assurance programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and quality metrics reporting.
- Leadership skills with proven experience managing teams and quality projects.
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving processes.
- Experience with supplier quality management and customer quality management protocols.
- Familiarity with automated systems for inspection, testing, welding, and assembly.
- Competency with internal auditing and quality audits.
- Basic knowledge of statistical software tools for data analysis.
- Training in general safety and quality system procedures.
- Experience in process improvement across multi-location production environments.
- Customer-oriented attitude with strong negotiation skills.
