SummaryThe Information Security Specialist supports the day-to-day physical security operations at LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. This role assists in maintaining physical security systems, conducting facility security assessments and patrols, supporting investigations, coordinating with contract security personnel, and helping protect employees, visitors, company assets, and facilities under the direction of the Emergency Management Specialist.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our security systems, as well as the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures
- Develop and implement security plans, policies, procedures, and programs to protect people, property, information, and assets
- Monitor and investigate security breaches to determine their root cause and develop corrective action plans
- Manage security operations for special events, including developing security protocols, coordinating with law enforcement, and overseeing security personnel
- Select and oversee installation, and maintenance of security equipment, such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems
- Train employees on security procedures, such as proper badge use, handling of sensitive materials, and evacuation procedures
- Conduct background checks on new hires and contractors as requested by the Human Resources Department
- May be required to respond to incidents, including acts of violence; investigate incidents and prepare reports for insurance claims and legal proceedings
- Work with local law enforcement and on site security personnel to resolve security issues
- Keep abreast of new security technologies and trends
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security laws and regulations
- Conduct patrols to audit the status of physical security
- Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of security and other life safety equipment
- Attend meetings and work with team members to ensure a safe and secure working environment
- Assist other members of the HSE team in completing tasks that may or may not be security related at times to maintain the overall mission of the HSE department
- Maintain reports and documentation
- Stay current on industry best practices for physical security
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field or equivalent, relevant experience
- 1 to 3+ years of relevant work experience in security, law enforcement
- Experience with physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
- Experience conducting security assessments, incident investigations, or facility security operations is preferred.
