HVAC Installer - Holland, MI

Seeking a skilled HVAC installer to add to our team for various projects throughout West Michigan. This individual will install commercial HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional facilities. Worked with installation crews to complete HVAC, piping, ventilation, and mechanical projects while ensuring work met project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform HVAC installation activities on project sites, including sheet metal ductwork, chillers, air conditioning units, and associated piping.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan daily tasks and ensure accurate installation.
  • Coordinate and direct the work of installation laborers and technicians, providing clear instructions and on-the-job guidance.
  • Organize and manage rough duct work through to final installation, ensuring all components are properly aligned, supported, and secured.
  • Bend, cut, fit, and connect sheet metal ductwork using appropriate tools and methods while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Verify that installed systems comply with project requirements, mechanical standards, and applicable codes.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC installation, including chillers, air conditioning units, and associated piping systems.
  • Proficiency in sheet metal work, including bending, cutting, fitting, and connecting ductwork.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in construction and mechanical installation environments.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding labor, including lifting, carrying, and working on ladders or in tight spaces.
  • Skill in using hand tools and power drills required for HVAC and sheet metal installation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to ensure accurate and high-quality installations.
  • Reliable work ethic with the ability to consistently work 1st shift hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Effective communication skills to direct crew members and coordinate work on active job sites.

You will contribute to meaningful mechanical projects that support educational and medical facilities, working with a contractor known for its focus on high-quality, specialized work. The role offers consistent first-shift hours and the opportunity to gain or expand experience in HVAC and sheet metal installation on commercial projects. You will work in a professional environment where safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork are valued, and where your field skills have a direct impact on the success of each project.

This is a first-shift position, typically running from 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work on active construction sites for school and medical-related projects in West Michigan. The environment is that of a mechanical contractor job site, involving exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and physical activity such as standing, bending, lifting, and working  will regularly use hand tools, power drills, and sheet metal fabrication tools while coordinating with other trades and site personnel.

Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to maintain safety and professionalism on site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI. The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
