Automation Maintenance Technician
This role provides advanced technical support for the installation, troubleshooting, and improvement of automated and electronic equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Working under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor, the technician independently handles complex projects involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and PLC systems.
- Supporting continuous improvement and preventive maintenance initiatives on second shift (3 pm – 11 pm).
- Typical work week is 45-50 hours/week can work as much OT as you'd like, double time on Sundays
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems to ensure reliable and safe operation of production equipment.
- Diagnose issues in hydraulics, pneumatics, I/O, motors, sensors, wiring, and related components, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Utilizing PLCs as a troubleshooting tool to diagnose issues (programming will be done by controls team)
- Adjust robot paths and configure robotic vision systems, with a focus on ABB robots, to support accurate and repeatable operations.
- Support the launch of new equipment and retrofits by participating in installation, commissioning, testing, and validation activities.
- Perform preventive maintenance on automated and electronic equipment using CMMS software, following established schedules and procedures.
- Continuously improve preventive maintenance plans by analyzing equipment performance and failure trends and updating tasks and intervals.
- Respond quickly to production issues, identify root causes, and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime and maintain throughput.
- Familiarity with PLCs - utilizing them as a troubleshooting tool (do not need to program)
- Familiarity with robotics - ABB preferred
- Experience working in a fast paced work environment
- Maintenance and repair on automated machinery

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
