Schedule:

7:00 am - 3:00pm Monday-Friday

Duration: 6 months

POSITION SUMMARY:

Material Handler maintains incoming and outgoing product movement throughout the facility.

· Material Handler maintains incoming and outgoing product movement throughout the facility

· Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality

· Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

· Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

· Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

· Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.

· Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.

· Marks materials with identifying information.

· Opens bales, crates, and other containers.

· Records amount of materials or items received or distributed.

· Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.

· Use computer to enter records.

· Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items.

· Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.

· Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.

· Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection, May perform other duties as required.

· Contributes to division results and performance.

· Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.

KNOWLEDGE &

EXPERIENCE:

· Required Candidate must able to communicate effectively to team members and management staff.

· Must be able to read information through warehouse computer software.

Preferred:

· Relevant work experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.

· Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

· Must be able to climb and descend stairs.

· Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an frequent basis.

· Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.

· May work indoors and outdoors as needed.

· Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.

· May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.

· May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.

· Work surfaces may include concrete.

· Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.

· Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
