Overview
Aquatic Design Manufacturing Engineer at Iwaki America. Responsible for product design within the AQ Engineering group to support the growth of the aquatic business. Focus on manufacturing engineering and lean production as well as implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to engineering, manufacturing, and quality control.
Responsibilities- Integration in the Engineering team, working with Sales, Operations, & Service/Installation on current projects and jobs.

:
Participate in design reviews to help ensure products are designed for manufacturability. - Engineering documentation review prior to hand-off to Production to help eliminate errors. Cross-checking WISE parts and BOMs and drawings to ensure information is accurate and ready for MO generation.
- Primary contact for Production team to report on design/manufacturing issues. Determine root causes and implement solutions. Collaborate and provide feedback & solutions to engineering group. Document changes through ECOs as necessary.
- Adjust BOMs and product structure for ease of manufacturing.
- Work closely with Manufacturing to design/develop tools, fixtures, etc. to improve work-cell efficiencies.
- Production support for complex assemblies/part fabrication and machined components.
- Oversee CNC production related activities.
- Setup and modification of Solid Works files for CNC programming.
- Programming CNC Equipment for cutting.
- Secondary resource for CNC operation as backup.
- Follow ISO protocols for NPD guided by sales & ENG.
- Define scope and functional specs.
- Produce Solid Works 3D models, BOMs, and 2D drawings.
- Supports sales/service with shop engineering/labor/build times for standard and custom components/assembly quote estimations.
- Performs inspections of new incoming items such as rack weldments, filtration components, and any other items flagged for inspection. Ensures purchased parts meet required specifications that were set forth by engineering.
- Ensures QC checklists are being completed for each project and maintains QC documentation and as-built Documentation.
- Assists in document retention to meet ISO standards and in the creation of new policies and procedures related to ISO and other standards.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
- Ability to understand drawings and documentation produced by engineers.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems and generate reports.
- Stringent attention to detail.

- Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to interview individuals associated with audit subject matter, as well as communicate findings to management.
- Capable of not only finding issues but solutions.
- Experience working successfully as part of a team.
- Required to lift up to 65 lbs.
- Regularly required to stand all day, bend, reach and move about the facility.
