Position:
Senior Director, Platform & Process Development

Oligo Factory delivers high-quality custom DNA and RNA oligos at scale to pharmaceutical, diagnostics and life science customers with a focus on customer responsiveness and satisfaction. In 2023, Oligo Factory’s Holliston, MA facility achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification and ICH Q7 compliance, marking a milestone in our dedication to quality systems that support customer oligonucleotide demands. We continue to invest in technology and people to serve the growing demands of scientific discoveries.

Our third-generation synthesis platform (NANDA Series) enhances turn-around-time, control and quality. Oligo Factory products and services are built to serve all the DNA/RNA synthesis markets and applications, from synthetic biology to qPCR to functional genomics and therapeutics.

Commercial, Manufacturing Operations, Quality & Facilities

Responsibilities
  • Owning and leading the technical development strategy including leading scientific/co-development collaborations.
  • Leading the development & optimization of platform programs aligned to target product profiles.
  • Scaling process development and leading tech transfer to Manufacturing Operations.
  • Driving process scalability, standardization, and operational efficiency.
  • Assessing & evaluating new synthesis and purification technologies.
  • Leading troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for complex technical challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
  • M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Molecular Biology;
    Ph.D. preferred.
  • 8-12 years of experience in oligonucleotide synthesis and process development; experience with high-throughput or parallel oligonucleotide synthesis strongly preferred (specifically Dr. Oligo 48).
  • 3-4 years of experience supporting therapeutics and/or diagnostics GMP oligo programs strongly preferred; experience with therapeutics, molecular diagnostics and NGS applications highly desirable.
  • 4-6 years of experience in tech transfer of development methods to Manufacturing Operations.
  • 3+ years leadership and people management experience in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve throughput, standardize workflows, reduce process variability, and enhance operational efficiency; strong cross-functional leadership in oligonucleotide development environments.
