Box Truck Driver Associate

This role combines professional box truck driving with hands-on warehouse responsibilities to support the delivery of large materials, including windows and doors, across southern Massachusetts and the coastal region. You will spend approximately 80% of your time driving and delivering materials to homes and construction sites, and 20% of your time performing warehouse tasks such as loading your own truck, organizing inventory, and verifying orders.

The position requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and courteous customer interaction while ensuring materials arrive accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

• Drive a box truck to deliver large materials, including window and door supplies, to locations south of Andover, MA and along the Massachusetts coast.
• Spend approximately 80% of the workday on the road completing scheduled delivery routes in a safe and timely manner.
• Load and unload materials from the box truck, ensuring safe handling and proper placement to prevent damage.
• Perform warehouse duties approximately 20% of the time, including loading your own truck, putting materials away, and organizing inventory.
• Verify that orders are accurate before loading and delivering, ensuring all items match packing lists and customer requirements.
• Handle materials safely and efficiently, using appropriate equipment and techniques to move, lift, and secure products.
• Interact professionally with customers at homes, construction sites, and other delivery locations, providing courteous and respectful service.
• Represent the company positively by maintaining a friendly, respectful demeanor and demonstrating strong customer service skills.
• Operate a manual transmission vehicle confidently and in accordance with all safety and traffic regulations.
• Comply with all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and driving standards at all times.
• Assist in general warehouse operations as needed, including supporting a floater role that may split time between warehouse work and driving.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding delivery status, issues, and any discrepancies with orders.

Follow assigned work schedules, typically Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional extension to 4:00 p.m. based on delivery needs.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of box truck driving or delivery driving experience.
• Ability to safely operate a box truck, including experience with delivery routes and package or materials delivery.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Valid DOT certification.
• Clean driving record suitable for insurance coverage and compliance requirements.
• Strong customer service skills with a respectful, professional, and friendly demeanor.
• Reliability and dependability in attendance, punctuality, and completing assigned routes.
• Experience with loading and unloading trucks, including safe lifting and handling of materials.
• Ability to verify and pack orders accurately, ensuring correct materials are delivered.
• Comfort working in both driving and warehouse environments, including handling physical tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts or similar material-handling equipment.
• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and safe driving practices for commercial or box trucks.
• Experience delivering to residential homes and construction sites.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Flexibility to work as a floater, supporting both warehouse operations and driving responsibilities as needed.
