Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other key functional areas to support critical business initiatives, with a primary focus on process improvement through the application of engineering principles, tools, and methodologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Process Engineer will be instrumental in the installation, startup, and commissioning of new production lines. The role will drive optimization efforts to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and minimize quality‑related issues.
- Provide direct hands‑on assistance to Manufacturing personnel on the Siding production floor to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
- Develop and document operating procedures.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis investigations for Quality and Yield issues.
- Submit and manage capital projects.
- Advance SPG safety initiatives.
- Deliver on SPG cost reduction initiatives.
- Lead Process Improvement Events, capital projects, and project management activities focused on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reducing costs, enhancing employee training, and advancing World Class Manufacturing principles.
- Knowing and understanding the Company’s quality and safety policies.
- Completing all quality and safety training required for the position.
- Following all quality and safety rules and procedures while encouraging others to do the same.
- Addressing and reporting any unsafe condition or quality issue immediately.
- Speaking up when unsafe behaviors are observed or quality issues arise and participating in investigations without assigning blame.
- Adhering to the principles of data integrity.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (Required)
- 3–5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering; experience in the extrusion industry required.
- 1 year of Six Sigma project experience (Preferred)
