Downstream CQV Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Downstream CQV Engineer to join a growing organization within the life sciences and biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry for an onsite 6-month contract with extensions based out of Holly Springs, NC. This Downstream CQV Engineer role supports large‑scale manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on downstream systems, utilities, and equipment commissioning and qualification activities in a multi‑building production environment.

• Execute commissioning, qualification, and verification activities for downstream manufacturing systems and utilities.
• Support installation verification and field execution by reviewing drawings, P&IDs, and system documentation.
• Perform hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and walkdowns of large‑scale equipment including pumps, filters, valves, and piping networks.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain project timelines across multiple manufacturing suites.
• Contribute to electronic documentation and turnover packages, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory expectations.

• 2–10 years of hands‑on experience in CQV, validation, or engineering within large‑scale manufacturing environments.
• Practical experience with downstream processing equipment; ultrafiltration exposure is strongly preferred.
• Mechanical or engineering‑focused background with the ability to disassemble, inspect, and troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with installation verification, utilities qualification, and system turnover activities.
• Experience with electronic validation systems such as Kneat is preferred but not required.

Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000/year (USD)
