Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
CSL Seqirus is one of the world's largest influenza vaccine providers, and its finances run in seasons: forecasts, inventory and workforce all move with the flu calendar. This role works alongside the Global Finance Business Partner for Seqirus Commercial and R&D. It provides the analysis, reporting and planning discipline that partnership depends on. You'll turn month-end numbers into a clear account of what drove the result, keep forecast and budget cycles running smoothly across markets, and help build the consistent processes and KPIs that let the business plan with confidence.
Hybrid based (3 days a week in office) in Maidenhead or Liverpool (UK) or Holly Springs, NC or Summit, NJ (US)
Why it mattersSeasonal influenza vaccines are planned, produced and distributed against a hard deadline every year. That makes accurate forecasting, inventory control and labour cost management more than routine finance. When the numbers are right and well explained, the business can direct resources to the markets and programmes that need them. This role helps make that happen. It explains variance rather than simply reporting it, tracks risks and opportunities as the season unfolds, and brings Commercial and R&D reporting onto a common footing.
It also involves improving how the work gets done, through standardisation and automation, including AI use cases.
You’ll support the Global Finance Business Partner across the Commercial FP&A cycle, from month end through forecast and budget, and contribute to bringing R&D reporting fully into the Seqirus FP&A team. You’ll work with Commercial Finance colleagues, the wider Seqirus business and CSL Enterprise. You’ll be expected to question the numbers as well as consolidate them.
- Contribute to the Commercial pages of the month-end pack and board report, with analysis of gross margin and commercial opex, and review R&D submissions for variance to controllable result
- Coordinate forecast and budget cycles for markets and functions: timetables, data validation, review sessions, consolidated materials and the management of top-down budget adjustments
- Implement and maintain standardised KPI reporting across all markets, aligned with R&D
- Track and report risks and opportunities through the season, including formal reporting during planning cycles
- Analyse headcount and people cost across functions, regions and levels, including vacancy, contingent/permanent mix and seasonal workforce, using predictive modelling to inform labour cost decisions at senior leadership level
- Lead Commercial finished goods inventory processes at planning and month end, including the impact of intra-group pricing, and maintain the Commercial process improvement tracker
- The position will have one direct report (Analyst, FP&A)
- A business partnering approach, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and drivers
- Substantial FP&A experience in a multi-market business, including month-end reporting, forecasting and budgeting
- A track record of preparing P&L and variance commentary for senior audiences
- Experience with headcount and labour cost analysis, ideally including predictive modelling
- Working knowledge of inventory accounting and intra-group pricing
- Experience driving process standardisation or automation across multiple stakeholders
