Location: The Club at 12 Oaks Country Club
Position Summary: The Captain of Dining Room & Banquets is responsible for delivering exceptional service to members and guests while leading service execution in both à la carte dining and banquet operations. This position ensures all service standards, etiquette protocols, and operational procedures of The Club at 12 Oaks Country Club are upheld at the highest level.
The Captain serves as a floor leader during service, supporting the team, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring flawless execution from setup to breakdown.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesService Leadership
- Lead dining room and banquet service with professionalism and confidence.
- Ensure adherence to club service standards and proper etiquette.
- Act as the primary point of contact for member and guest service needs during events and dining service.
- Communicate clearly with culinary and bar teams to ensure seamless service flow.
- Handle guest concerns promptly, professionally, and with urgency.
- Oversee and assist with complete setup and breakdown of banquet and dining areas.
- Relay food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests to appropriate team members.
- Maintain timing and coordination of multi-course meals and beverage service.
- Anticipate guest needs and exceed expectations consistently.
- Maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and strict adherence to sanitary practices.
- Present a polished, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Ensure service areas remain organized and guest-ready throughout service.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a full-service dining environment (private club experience preferred).
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Outgoing, friendly personality with a patient and courteous demeanor toward members, guests, and colleagues.
- Ability to serve up to 12 guests simultaneously with accuracy and professionalism.
- Ability to stand and walk for 4–8 hour shifts.
- Ability to carry a tray with six beverages on a cocktail tray using one hand while serving with the other.
- Ability to carry trays with up to six plated meals (approximately 30 pounds).
- Ability to move and lift dining chairs and tables weighing approximately 40 pounds.
This position operates in a high-standard private club environment requiring professionalism, hospitality excellence, and attention to detail. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required based on club operations and event schedules.
