Position Summary

The Electrical Project Manager / Estimator is responsible for estimating, planning, coordinating, and managing commercial and residential electrical projects from pre-construction through project completion. This is a split-role position that combines estimating responsibilities with project management duties. The successful candidate will prepare accurate and competitive estimates while ensuring awarded projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for customers, vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, and company leadership throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Estimating Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and residential electrical projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and pricing.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost‑saving solutions.
  • Attend pre‑bid meetings and job walks as needed.
  • Submit bids and proposals by required deadlines.
  • Maintain estimating files and historical cost data.
  • Collaborate with company leadership during bid reviews and project handoffs.
  • Experience using the EBM estimating platform is highly preferred.
Project Management Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously from award through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Review contracts, specifications, blueprints, and electrical drawings.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, and job costs to ensure profitability.
  • Coordinate with builders, general contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field teams.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and maintain regular communication with project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
  • Schedule inspections and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Perform regular jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, progress, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify project issues early and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and cost impacts.
  • Oversee project closeout, punch lists, warranty items, and final documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, project management, or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully perform in a split role handling both estimating and project management responsibilities.
  • Experience managing commercial and residential electrical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of labor productivity, material pricing, and project cost controls.
  • Experience preparing bids, estimates, budgets, and project schedules.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with the EBM Estimating Platform is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Service Titan, or other construction software is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Certifications
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred)
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel regularly between office locations and active jobsites.
  • Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both office and outdoor environments.
