- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to build, modify, and test prototypes and new manufacturing processes.
- Utilize PLC ladder logic as a diagnostic toolto monitor program flow and identify the root cause of hardware or sequence failures.
- Connect to PLC processors to observe I/O status and verify signal paths, ensuring a clear path for troubleshooting before mechanical intervention.
- Lead the construction of electrical panels for in-house projects in accordance with NFPA and Hydro standards.
- Act as a technical escalation point for the maintenance team to assist with complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Work fluently from verbal instructions, prints, sketches, and schematics while ensuring all work meets national and local codes.
- Identify and recommend process enhancements to maximize facility efficiencies and 5S standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5 S standards.
- Requires the ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements
- High proficiency inreading and interpreting existing ladder logic(specifically Allen-Bradley) to identify fault conditions and verify inputs/outputs.
- Strong ability to bridge the gap between physical electrical components and their digital representation in a PLC program.
- Competent working with 480
VAC (3-phase) and 24
VDC low-voltage control circuits. - Skilled in using trade equipment such as drill presses, band saws, and knockouts; proficient with precision measuring instruments.
