Position: Mercury Marine Assembler I- Molding- 1st Shift

Position Overview

An Assembler is responsible for production assembly. The work is highly repetitive; the operator must follow prescribed routines, execute specific machining processes for molded plastic parts, correctly place and secure parts on the machine fixture, may deburr/gauge parts during cycles, select programs, change fixtures, run machines, be trained to program when authorized, record process data, read blueprint tolerances, use measurement tools, start‑up and shut‑down equipment, and operate tools independently.

Functions
  • Position requires operators to be mechanically inclined with basic reading, writing and mathematics skills
  • Position requires operator to work in a team environment, follow direction, read work instructions, and prepare container tickets, including addition and subtraction of part counts
  • Organizational skills required to multitask; use hand tools, scales, and other process related equipment such as fixtures, assembly presses and drill presses
  • Some hand tools require the operator to be ambidextrous
  • Position requires standing for extended periods of time / sitting for extended periods of time
  • Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs, lifting assistance is provided when necessary
  • Fine hand manipulation, pinching, pulling and grasping of small-medium-large parts is required
  • Operator must have full range of motion in hands, arms, legs, neck and back to perform job duties
  • Job requires the use of chemicals
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English; excellent written and verbal communication is required
  • The position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Basic reading and math skills
  • Must have normal to high manual dexterity skills
  • Must be able to use all required hand tools, machinery and variable gauges
  • Must be qualified and competent after a reasonable predetermined training period based on job complexity
Working Conditions

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area where conditions require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes/boots and hearing protection. The primary environment is non‑temperature controlled; hot temperatures may occur during summer months. Typical hazards include ergonomic issues, burns, bruises, cuts, heavy lifting, fumes, slippery floors, machine hazards, chemicals, gases, bodily injuries.

Protective measures are provided: machine guards, ergonomic stretch program, documented hazards, proper hand tools, environmental, health and safety training, and PPE. Industrial lighting is provided. This work requires routine walking, standing and bending.

Pay Range

$18.00 - $21.57 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs and geographic location.
