A-1 Balers & Compactors, part of the Waste Pro family, is looking for an experienced Welder to join our Fort Pierce team. If you like hands-on work, working with steel and aluminum, fabricating and repairing equipment, and seeing the results of your work every day, this could be a great fit. This is a full-time, year-round position with a steady Monday-Friday schedule and opportunities for overtime.
You'll work on containers, trucks, and equipment that support Waste Pro's daily hauling operations throughout the region.

- Weld and repair front-load, rear-load, and roll-off containers
- Perform fabrication and welding repairs on vehicle floors, bodies, packing blades, rails, and other components
- Weld steel and aluminum using MIG and arc welding equipment
- Fabricate steel components for trucks, containers, and equipment
- Cut steel using a plasma cutter and/or torch
- Bend and shape steel using a brake and shear
- Install lids, wheels, and other container components
- Repair and maintain equipment parts and containers
- Paint repaired and newly fabricated containers as needed
- Complete required paperwork and repair documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding/fabrication area
- Follow all Waste Pro safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional welding, fabrication, repair, and shop duties as assigned
- At least 1 year of welding experience
- Experience welding steel and aluminum
- Experience with MIG and/or arc welding
- Ability to use fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, torches, brakes, and shears
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently and as part of a team
This is an active, hands-on shop position. You must be able to:
- Push, pull, drag, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Climb ladders and perform overhead reaching
- Walk, bend, twist, crouch, and lift throughout the workday
- Maintain the stamina required for a steady work pace
- Wear and properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Work is performed both inside the fabrication facility and outdoors. The position may involve exposure to weather conditions, vehicle and equipment vibration, welding and fabrication activities, and occasional extreme weather conditions.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS- One year welding experience.
- Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.
- Valid driver license.
- Push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, climbing ladder, and overhead reaching.
- Walking, Jogging, Twisting, Crouching, Lifting
- Sufficient stamina for steady work pace throughout the day
- Able to utilize all Personal Protective Equipment as mandated by company.
