At Fuente Latina (FL), we believe there is always a different story to tell about Israel and the Middle East. We help global Spanish-language media tell those stories and provide journalists and influencers with access to news makers to facilitate accurate coverage in real time.
FL is a women-led, Hispanic-focused non-profit media organization headquartered in Miami with offices in Jerusalem, Madrid, Mexico City, and Los Angeles.
Our multicultural international team is growing, and our search begins for a full-time Media Relations Specialist to act as the primary contact for journalists and media professionals, balancing media relations management with key administrative support for the Chief Communications Officer.
The Opportunity- Proactively pitch stories to journalists, draft newsworthy press releases, build relationships with editors/influencers, and monitor media metrics to evaluate campaign success.
- Recruit and screen journalist candidates for Fuente Latina's media fellowship programs, coordinate international visa requests, track travel itineraries, and manage participant documentation.
- Assist with crisis communication plans, coordinate press coverage for events, and provide media training to internal personnel.
- Cultivate relationships between journalists and Fuente Latina experts to facilitate high-profile interviews and ongoing media engagement.
- Manage executive calendars, schedule meetings, monitor incoming organizational emails, handle travel arrangements, and prepare media kits and meeting agendas.
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English (required).
- 5+ years in media relations, public relations, or journalism, backed by an established network of industry contacts.
- 1-3 years of administrative support with Google Workspace/MS Office.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing and editing capabilities, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with media monitoring/PR measurement tools, database management (Excel), and digital marketing/social media trends.
- $60,000 - $65,000 annually
