SummaryProvides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and family and provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Nursing (Required) - BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) – American Heart Association
- BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) – American Heart Association
- BLS Cert American Heart Non‑ecard – American Heart Association
- BLS Certification Grace – Grace Period for Essential Credential
- BLS Cert Red Cross – Red Cross
- Registered Nurse Compact License (RN License Compact) – Multistate
- Registered Nurse License – State of Florida
- Complexity of Work:
Department-specific credentials (ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate for RNs administering chemotherapy). ACLS required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endoscopy, Telemetry, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas. PALS required for Pediatric areas (except NICU). Fetal Monitoring certification required for L&D RNs. Newly licensed RNs have 6 months to obtain ACLS and/or PALS and Fetal Monitoring if L&D. If RN is from a non-pediatric background, PALS must be obtained within 30 days of taking the position. - Educational/M mandatory requirements:

Work Experience:
One (1) year of RN work experience. - RN Fellowship Program requires one (1) year of RN independent practice (not including nurse orientation). Some RN Fellowship specialties require ACLS and BLS certifications.
