Provides direct patient care in a specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope, standards, and organizational values, focusing on patient‑ and family‑centered care.

• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel.
• Precept student nurses and new hires, as needed.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual or psychosocial support.
• Evaluate learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

• Accredited Nursing program (required)
• Registered Nurse Compact License or State‑of‑Florida RN License
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (various eCard/RQI/Grace levels)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (various eCard/RQI/Grace levels)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Academy of Pediatrics
• Specialty credentials: ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate, APHON Chemotherapy Provider Card, PALS (for pediatric areas), NRP (for NICU), Fetal Monitoring certification, RN Fellowship Program prerequisites, and other program‑specific qualifications as required.

• One year of nursing experience required.
• Requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Typical physical demands include monitoring vital signs, moving patients up to 35 pounds, handling needles and other sharp objects, and frequent use of equipment exposed to biothreats. The environment may have exposure to asbestos, biohazardous waste, and hazardous chemicals, but overall hazardous exposure is limited. The job requires standing, walking, and occasional climbing or squatting, with minimal aptitude for extreme heat or cold.
