this position is eligible for a sign-on bonus, as advertised, based on applicant eligibility. Schedule flexibility required to participate in meetings/trainings on the day shift. Schedule could be changed to three 12 hour 7:00pm to 7:00am shifts, plus one 4 additional hour shift. Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff.

• collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
• assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s).
• uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions.
• supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
• serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
• plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s).
• participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives.
• may perform clinical patient care when needed.
• manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s).

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required work experience: three (3) years nursing experience. Candidates for clinical nurse educator rn fellowship positions may apply after completion of two (2) years' nursing experience.
