Join to apply for the Quality Manager role at HEICO Aircraft Technology, Inc. (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.
Responsibilities- Responsible for managing the company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control functions, including the daily management of incoming, in-process, NDT, and final inspection activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production on new repair capability.
- Provide periodic detailed quality reports to the General Manager as requested for monitoring progress, budgets, staffing, and efficiency.
- Maintain a high sense of urgency and ability to meet schedule requirements.
- Ensure currency of technical data.
- Represent the company during customer visits, audits, and meetings.
- Ensure all Quality Control metrics are met.
- Implement systems to minimize downtime by reducing production rework and recalls.
- Read and interpret Service Bulletins, service letters, and FAA-approved Airworthiness Directives or industry-accepted standards.
- Ensure quality processes follow FAA regulations and manual procedures.
- Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
- Establish inspection procedures for receipt of materials, in-process, and final acceptance activities.
- Report on quality inspections, results, corrective actions, and recommended preventive actions.
- Review quality efficiency and approve time.
- Prioritize work activities to meet production schedules.
- Recommend tools and equipment to operate the business.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and write/update SOPs for the Quality Assurance Program.
- Manage the outside vendor program and inspectors to accomplish inspection activities.
- Maintain processes implemented for the Quality Control systems.
- Define test standards and specify test equipment and procedures.
- Participate in design review meetings to contribute quality assurance requirements.
- Supervise and train all members of the quality control department to ensure expertise and productivity.
- Keep management informed of significant issues identified during quality assurance activities and actions taken to improve the situation.
- Coordinate inspection and acceptance activities with Customer Service.
- Review quality requirements with customer representatives to ensure compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of government and industry quality standards.
- Review contractually required documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform special assignments related to product support requiring data gathering and analysis.
- Establish and maintain calibration procedures for instrumentation to ensure traceability.
- Responsible for warranties and customer complaints.
- Audit technical and managerial processes to ensure compliance.
- Manage the scrap program.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers, and direct reports.
- Manage, develop, and motivate employees; provide education and coaching on the Quality System.
- Make airworthiness determinations on behalf of the company and manage daily activities of the QC Supervisor.
- Manage the safety program.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology from an accredited college or university, and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a related field required.
- Quality Control function in FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience: minimum 5 years.
- 8 years working in Quality and 5+ years in a leadership position.
- 5 years of experience in AS9110.
- Engine component experience is required.
- Experience working in aerospace manufacturing required.
- Strong dimensional inspection skills required.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
- A&P License
- Language:
Good communication skills; ability to explain ideas to all levels; fluency in other languages (e.g., German, Spanish, French, or Japanese) is a plus. - Computer
