Security Officer

Under the direction of the Security Shift Manager/Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for providing basic security coverage, ensuring that adequate protection is provided for the safety and assets of patrons, employees and the company, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring proper security is provided for all transfers of monies within the casino and hotel areas of the complex;
  • Communicating and providing direction to patrons and employees; preparing detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner;
  • Patrolling the hotel and casino areas and assisting in the coordination of emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum of one (1) year experience or an equivalent combination of both. A valid CPR and basic first aid certification preferred. A valid motor vehicle license with a good driving record is required. Must be able to wear a radio earphone without any limitations, stand/walk for long periods of time, climb steps, respond to emergency situations.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
