Police Clerk I

** Salary is based on experience and/or qualifications, and is subject to negotiation**

Provides front line customer service, records management, and field dispatching support for department personnel and civilians. Assists the public with general information and services to include fingerprinting, records requests, and background checks. Assists officers and civilian personnel by relaying and/or monitoring important and crucial information via radio or landline, and providing assistance with criminal histories, warrants, queries and entries into the Federal Crime Information Center (FCIC)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system.

Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.

** THIS POSITION REQUIRES SHIFT WORK** (dayshift, night shift, weekends, holidays, etc.)

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in parks, grounds, and/or facility maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment. Must have or be able to obtain first aide, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire.

Certified Arborist, Commercial Landscape Maintenance Applicator, and Ornamental and/or Certified Horticulture Professional designations preferred, May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment.

Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one or more years' directly related clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.

Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Must have or be able to obtain FCIC/NCIC certification.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
