Role Description

This is a remote, contract Bookkeeper role responsible for supporting multiple client accounts with day-to-day accounting activities. The Bookkeeper will record and reconcile transactions, maintain the general ledger, and prepare accurate and timely financial reports. Responsibilities include posting journal entries, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The role also involves maintaining organized digital records, using accounting software to ensure data accuracy, and collaborating with senior finance team members to address questions or discrepancies.

The Bookkeeper will communicate with clients in a professional manner, providing clear updates on financial status and supporting their operational and strategic needs.

Qualifications
  • Strong bookkeeping skills, including maintaining ledgers, managing accounts payable/receivable, and handling journal entries.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements to support decision‑making and compliance.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero, or similar platforms) and comfort working in cloud‑based tools and spreadsheets.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance principles, including cash flow, budgeting, and basic financial analysis.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in a client‑facing, outsourced, or multi‑entity accounting environment is preferred.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; relevant certifications are a plus.
