About The OpportunityThis is an open position with First Energy Service Co., a subsidiary of First Energy Corp. The Construction Site Coordinator (CSC) has responsibility to coordinate and supervise pre‑construction, construction, and post‑construction activities for Transmission and Distribution substation and line projects. The position will cover our JCP&L service territories and can be based out of Holmdel or Morristown.
CompensationFirst Energy takes a market‑based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. In addition, your actual base salary will depend on various factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. The estimated pay range for this role is $85,680 – $160,560.
Responsibilities- Fostering a high‑performing safety culture through personal conduct and utilization of human performance principles.
- Coordinating and supervising smaller to medium size projects or supporting larger projects under the supervision of more experienced Construction Site Coordinators.
- Understanding the scope of assigned projects, including problems, needs, and constraints.
- Understanding how schedules are developed and utilized, including CPM calculations, float, and predecessors.
- Proactively managing scheduled tasks for all construction activities on assigned projects and reporting on schedule progress.
- Participating with the project team to develop contractor bid packages, attending pre‑bid meetings, and documenting action items.
- Assisting in constructability reviews with site walk‑downs.
- Coordinating material requests, delivery dates & locations, and verifying materials at the project site, staging, and monitoring contractor use.
- Coordinating staking of structures, wetlands, and vegetation as part of the project’s scope assessment and understanding how site actions impact project costs.
- Understanding and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards and specifications.
- Articulating quality requirements for all vendors and other parties working on construction activities.
- Inspecting contractor work against design and construction standards.
- Identifying typical risks on a transmission construction project and implementing a construction risk management plan.
- Documenting project site meetings with contractors to address safety, performance, quality control, or schedule adherence issues.
- Ensuring all stakeholders have necessary permit copies.
- Maintaining digital or printed copies of red‑line drawings of the project site.
- Participating in contractor evaluation, project review meetings, and lessons‑learned sessions.
- Applying ethical guidelines consistently when working with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related technical field required.
- In lieu of a degree, 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial construction required.
- Experience in electrical substation and/or line construction preferred.
- Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills to resolve compliance issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
- Self‑motivated, customer‑focused, and results‑oriented.
- Sound analytical abilities and judgment for complex problems.
- Experience managing larger substation/line projects independently.
