Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a passionate and experienced Resident Engineer to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Holmdel, NJ! Responsibilities
  • Lead inspectors or act as solo inspector for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway projects including measuring and calculating quantities.
  • Document work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
  • Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with NJDOT or other Agency specifications.
  • Apply project plans along with company policies, guidelines, standards, and specifications to the work and implement independent decision making to progress the project.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
  • Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
  • Lead other construction inspectors; providing coaching, mentoring, and direction as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 10+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience required.
  • Valid US Driver's License required.
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred.
  • NICET Certification III/IV or NJDOT equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience with NJDOT and municipal clients preferred.
  • Leadership skills, decision making, and attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors on a project site for extended period of time.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $50.33 to $71.33 per hour (depending on qualifications)
