Tax Senior Associate [Commercial Services Group]
Hybrid (3 days a week in office) location:
Holmdel, NJ / Parsippany, NJ.
The role involves leading client engagements, preparing and reviewing tax returns and financial statements, performing financial analysis, creating tax projections, and participating in proposals. The associate will manage staff and interns, provide performance coaching, and maintain client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts
- Take responsibility for pre‑engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables
- Assist with the process and review of various tax returns
- Perform financial analysis including balance sheets and income statements
- Manage the preparation of financial statements for compilations and reviews (preferred)
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual year‑end tax projections
- Work on ad‑hoc projects as needed during the year
- Actively participate in proposals
- Manage a team of staff associates, including interns, providing coaching and feedback
- Maintain effective client communication and leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s in Accounting/Taxation preferred - CPA, JD or EA preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
- Commercial Services industry experience preferred
- Exceptional client service and communication skills
- Strong tax research and writing skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with tax compliance and research software (Go Systems, BNA, CCH, RIA)
- Solid project management and organizational skills
Salary range for New Jersey: $85,000 to $140,000. Salary is a component of the total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded parental benefits, and access to learning and development platforms.
