Oversee, organize, staff, direct, and control the Department of Radiology within the medical center. Supervise all administrative and technical service of this department, delegating appropriate responsibilities to supervisors and coordinators. Areas of responsibility:
Operations management, local growth and performance, quality and metrics, people management, network and local collaboration and education, community and industry relations.

A day in the life of a Manager of Radiology at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

Operations Management

• Responsible for the overall direction and supervision of all components of facility Radiology departments. Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the activities of Radiology in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, applicable licensing regulations; TJC standards, and all applicable State and Federal regulations.
• Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational & Managerial Competencies and network-wide Radiology policies and procedures.
• Adhere with and execute processes for monitoring, evaluating, and improving departmental operations, systems, and services, as well as addressing through appropriate documentation and communication.
• Ensure that all operating areas and staff are in keeping with regulatory agency requirements and facility policies and procedures relative to safety and security, including, but not limited to:
• New employee orientation
• Periodic safety/disaster training
• Accident/incident report
• Annual TJC and OSHA required programs
• Ensure that an adequate supply of stock supplies needed for Radiology procedures is on premises at all times.
• Work with the facility VP Operations / Dir Clinical Services and VP, Network Radiology to ensure that the equipment is adequate to meet the community needs.
• Implement the Radiology productivity measurement program, including action plans created by the VP, Network Radiology and Radiology Business Manager for performance improvement.
• Ensure facility Radiology department provides competent assessment, treatment and/or care to patients appropriate for the individualized and developmental needs for the ages of those patients served.
• Responsible for maintenance of existing equipment through use of centrally determined contractual services, monitoring all repairs of purchases and installation of existing and new equipment. Ensure that all applicable regulations, both State and Federal, are met.
• Help hospital achieve optimum patient experience and service recovery by leveraging results Patient Experience analyses, and implementing relevant improvements to local Radiology processes.
• Maintain accountability for efficient and appropriate use of hospital resources. Give input to the VP, Network Radiology in determining resource allocation to the facility. Plan appropriate, effective budgets that are consistent with the financial objectives of the medical center.
• Administer the effective allocation of capital and human resources at the facility, including the organization of the services, determination and control of appropriate staffing mix and levels, and management productivity.
• Prepare monthly variance reconciliation reports with the network Radiology Business Manager.

Local Growth and Performance

• Collaborate with VP, Network Radiology as well as facility and HMH network marketing, particularly for outpatient-based programs, to increase organic growth of services in local area.
