Job Summary
We are looking for a scientist to develop fragrance solutions for malodor control. The role is based in Holmdel, NJ and involves leading technical projects, designing and executing laboratory research, and developing performance‑testing protocols. The scientist will work cross‑functionally with Perfumery, Sales, Marketing, and Consumer Insights teams to translate consumer pain points into technical solutions.
Responsibilities- Lead technical projects to develop fragrance solutions for malodor control.
- Plan and execute laboratory research to build fundamental understanding.
- Design and interpret technical validation protocols for performance testing.
- Interpret consumer pain points into actionable technical problems.
- Build foundational programs and capabilities with the global R&D team and strategic alliances.
- Foster cross‑disciplinary collaboration across Perfumery, Sales, Marketing, and Consumer Insights.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 4–6 years of relevant experience (required).
- Master's degree with 1–3 years of experience (preferred).
- Technical expertise in designing and executing experiments involving chemical reactions, formulations, analytical instrumentation, and process equipment.
- Knowledge of lab safety and raw material processes.
- Track record in fragrance design, method development, olfactive evaluation, and headspace analysis.
- Experience in both research and commercial project management.
- Familiarity with fragrance legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with global teams.
- Experience with fragrance design and olfactive analysis.
- Background in developing fragrance microcapsules and designing fragrance technologies.
- Experience with cleaning actives and formulations containing cleaning actives.
- Knowledge of fragrance performance evaluation, analytical characterization, and/or modeling approaches.
- Work with leading experts in fragrance, science, and innovation.
