The Gift Thrift Shop Clerk provides assistance to patients, employees and visitors with gift and lottery selections and offers guidance to customers in need of directions.

Responsibilities- Customer Service:
Provides assistance with selection of flowers and gifts, operates cash register, lottery machine and electronic charges, and directs visitors and patients to appropriate locations. Actively offers assistance to customers with selections and suggests similar products. - Filing/Record-Keeping:
Maintains department filing and record-keeping system, filing documents accurately and on a regular basis to allow easy retrieval of information. - Inventory Management:
Tracks inventory of candy, cookies, balloons and toiletries; refills displays, and notifies manager/buyer when items are low. - Lottery:
Maintains daily lottery instant ticket record and records for magazines and daily newspapers, ensuring tickets are accurately recorded on the designated form with correct beginning and ending numbers. - Photocopies:
Makes and distributes photocopies of requested materials, correspondence and/or reports as per work requests. - Telephone:
Assists customers calling to place orders for delivery of flowers and/or gifts to patients, answers phone within 3 rings in a courteous manner, informs caller of available items and processes charge accurately. - Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent program.
- Able to operate a cash register.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate of pay is an estimate of the minimum base pay. Base compensation may differ based on labor market data, experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Certain positions may be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, commissions, or shift differentials.
In addition to full-time and part-time opportunities (20+ hours per week), HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement and retirement benefits. Minimum hourly rate: $17.51.
