Software Engineer III - Technical Lead

The Senior Software Engineer operates as a senior/lead team member assisting assigned Insurance Carrier project teams (“our clients”) to implement, integrate, leverage and enhance the FAST platform. We rely on a dynamic team of engineers to create solutions for a rapidly evolving technical stack. We’re seeking a full‑stack developer who is smart, proactive, and results‑oriented to build elegant solutions for the Life insurance industry's complex business domain and make our industry‑leading products even better.

The ideal candidate has experience building products across the stack and a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back‑end languages for a SaaS application. The full stack developer will join a small team to solve challenges for both the front‑end and back‑end architecture, ultimately delivering amazing experiences for the Life insurance industry.

• Provide guidance to junior and mid‑level engineers, helping them develop their technical skills, career growth, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
• Develop new features and infrastructure to support emerging business and project objectives.
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability, maintaining high standards for code quality and application design.
• Drive the continuous modernization of the SaaS offering.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with customers and stakeholders for all aspects of the FAST platform.
• Translate complex technical topics into clear, understandable language for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Participate in all aspects of agile software development: design, implementation, and deployment.
• Design and provide guidance on building end‑to‑end systems optimized for speed and scale using SOA design principles on J2EE and .NET platforms.
• Work primarily in technologies such as .NET, Angular/React, JavaScript, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.
• Collaborate with designers and front‑end engineers to create reliable APIs.
• Develop next‑generation user interfaces and innovate integration patterns using microservice design.
• Employ strong analytical skills to break down complex objectives and provide appropriate solutions within the FAST application context.
• Maintain a strong focus on delivering value to clients while balancing operational and regulatory constraints.
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills for articulating complex product features and benefits to clients persuasively and fostering collaboration across departments.

• Strong analytical skills to breakdown complex objectives and provide appropriate solutions within the context of the FAST application.
• A strong focus on delivering value to clients, ensuring their needs are prioritized while balancing operational and regulatory constraints.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, articulating complex product features and benefits to clients in a clear, concise, persuasive manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conveying complex information clearly and fostering collaboration across departments.

• At least 5–7 years of experience building large‑scale software applications.
• Experience building web applications.
• Demonstrated programming expertise in Java, C#, or .NET.
• Experience with data design and working with relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server).
• Experience with tuning stored procedures.
• Strong skills with object‑oriented programming and enterprise software design principles.
• Development experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, ExtJS) is a plus.
• Prior development utilizing SOA concepts and methodologies. Experience with microfront ends and microservices is a plus.
• Strong leader capable of motivating and energizing resources.
• Prior leadership and/or management experience of on‑shore and off‑shore resources.
• Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
• Experience with unit/integration testing.
• Experience with AWS services.

• Experience building configurable enterprise applications.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering (master’s a plus).
• Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies.
• Professional certifications.
