Senior Test Development Engineer - C#, SCPI & Automated Test Systems
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Development Engineer to modernize and maintain automated electronic test systems used in manufacturing, calibration, and product validation environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong C#/.NET development expertise combined with experience controlling electronic test equipment and developing automated test solutions for hardware products. This role involves migrating legacy test applications into the Keysight Gondor platform while preserving test functionality, measurement accuracy, and production performance.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, convert, validate, and deploy legacy manufacturing, PCBA, module, instrument, and calibration test applications into C#.
- Reverse-engineer existing applications written in C++, VB6, LabVIEW, .NET, Python, HTML, and related technologies.
- Preserve measurement methodologies, sequencing, limits, calibration requirements, and pass/fail criteria throughout migration efforts.
- Develop and maintain automated test software interfacing with electronic test equipment using SCPI, VISA, TCP/IP, USB, GPIB, and Serial communications.
- Troubleshoot software, instrumentation, DUT, fixture, and communication issues.
- Perform regression testing and demonstrate equivalency between legacy and migrated applications.
- Develop reusable software components and maintain source control.
- Create technical documentation and test instructions.
- Support deployment activities and knowledge transfer to manufacturing and test engineering teams.
- 5+ years of software development and automated test engineering experience.
- Strong C# and Microsoft .NET development experience.
- Experience developing software that controls electronic hardware and test equipment.
- Experience with SCPI, VISA, and instrument communication protocols.
- Experience with automated manufacturing test systems.
- Knowledge of Git or other source control systems.
- Experience troubleshooting software and hardware interfaces.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- C++
- VB5/VB6
- LabVIEW
- Python
- Experience reverse-engineering and migrating legacy test applications.
- Experience working with DUTs, PCBAs, modules, or electronic systems.
- Keysight, Agilent, or HP test equipment experience.
- RF, telecommunications, networking, or wireless product testing experience.
- Manufacturing test and calibration experience.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, USB, GPIB, and serial communications.
- Experience with in ISO/IEC 17025 environments.
- Experience with Keysight Gondor.
- Test automation and instrumentation software development experience.
