Manufacturing Engineer
What You Will Do
As part of the Operational Excellence (OpX) Automation Team, the Controls Engineer is responsible for ensuring the automation for the production line operates efficiently, troubleshooting equipment using RCCA, implementing process improvements, improving data collection and processing, and supporting incoming automated equipment. You will work with cross‑functional teams daily and report project status to all levels of site management.
- Familiar with the programming of automated systems.
- Generate new and maintain existing Ignition dashboards.
- Support existing automated equipment from a controls programming perspective.
- Support new equipment purchases to align to machine specifications.
- Analyze statistical data to support manufacturing decisions.
- Coordinate multiple manufacturing and automation projects.
- Plan sequences of operations, estimate time required, create schedules, and review process sheets.
- Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, and material, including make or buy decisions and facility layout as required for new or revised products.
- Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
- Provide technical support for operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or similar environment.
- Experience in automation and robotic applications.
- PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley Studio 5000, Factory Talk).
- Fanuc Equipment/Robot/Roboguide Programming knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Able to interpret manufacturing drawings and 3D models.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or a continuous improvement program (6S, etc.).
- Degree in aerospace, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
- Experience creating reports and data analysis in Python and SQL.
- SCADA programming using Ignition.
- Adaptive integration experience.
- Six‑sigma green belt certification.
- Process management / statistical process control / data analysis / analysis of variance / design of experiment / process risk analysis / PPAP / FMEA / control plans / root cause analysis experience.
The salary range for this role is $86,800 USD - $165,200 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position.
